Because of its lightweight (7.5 lbs.) and quick heating (3 degrees C. min.) features, the Stovall Water Baths provide the bench scientist with the most versatile water baths on the market: a constant temperature water bath or a shaking water bath that is useful for dozens of different applications, even in the course of a single day.
Used in conjunction with the Belly Dancer Shaker, the water bath provides the ideal agitation for Northern and Southern blot hybridization and stringency washes as well as insitu hybridizations, electrophoretic gel manipulations, hot staining protocols and numerous other applications.
Used by itself the bath is well suited for many common protocols not needing agitation such as inactivation of serums, enzyme digests, quantitative protein assays & DNA sequencing.
Because of its swift heating, the Stovall Baths are used for a multiplicity of applications at different temperatures in the course of a day. Start the day by maintaining your Agar at 50 degrees C prior to pouring plates. Then in the next hour place the bath on the Belly Dancer for a high stringency filter wash at 60 degrees C. After this, pour the hot water into the sink (the bath weighs 7.5 lbs.) and replace with cold water for a restriction enzyme digest at 37 degrees C. All of this before noon with a single bath!
There is no other constant temperature water bath on the market which renders this kind of flexibility and multiplicity of application. Compact in size, light in weight for easy transport, quick heating for multiple application: no lab should be without the Stovall Water Bath.
